Aurora terms of use

Last updated: 10 July 2026

By downloading, installing, or using Aurora (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of service

Aurora is an on-device migraine diary for iOS. It uses local computation (SwiftData, Apple Charts, Apple Health, WeatherKit) to log migraine attacks, analyze triggers, monitor medication overuse per ICHD-3, and generate doctor-ready PDF reports. All processing happens on your device; no data is transmitted to external servers operated by us.

2. Subscription plans (Aurora Plus)

Aurora is free to use for core logging, medication-overuse warnings, the basic menstrual module, the HIT-6 and MIDAS questionnaires, and one PDF report per month. Aurora Plus adds advanced analytics and is offered as:

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via Apple's In-App Purchase system. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Prices outside the US are set by the App Store for each country.

3. Free trial

The Aurora Plus Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial managed by Apple. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID will be charged for the annual subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is typically available only once per Apple ID.

4. Family Sharing

All three Aurora Plus purchases support Apple's Family Sharing. Members of your Apple Family Group get access to Aurora Plus features while the purchase remains active.

5. Acceptable use

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, and methodology implementations, is the intellectual property of the developer. Your migraine logs, check-ins, medication records, and any other data you create in the App belong to you. The App does not claim any rights to your content.

7. Not a medical device

Aurora is a wellness app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or replace professional medical care. Aurora's medication-overuse analysis (ICHD-3), HIT-6 and MIDAS scores, trigger statistics, and PDF reports are intended as structured material for discussion with a licensed neurologist, not as clinical decisions.

Do not rely solely on Aurora's output for any medical decision. Discuss diagnosis, treatment, and medication changes with a qualified healthcare provider.

8. Accuracy disclaimer

Statistical analyses, predictions, and warnings produced by Aurora are based on self-reported data and on-device computation. They are not guaranteed to be complete or accurate and depend on consistent logging. Aurora is not for pediatric migraine (under 14 years), cluster headache, or tension-type headache without migraine features.

9. Apple Health

If you grant HealthKit access, Aurora reads selected biometric signals and writes headache events back to Health as standard headache samples. You can revoke per-type access at any time in iOS Settings. Apple's HealthKit terms apply to all Health data interactions.

10. Limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the App, including loss of data, inaccurate analytics, missed notifications, or medical decisions made on the basis of App output.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. The developer may modify or discontinue the App at any time. Apple's standard refund and subscription cancellation policies apply.

12. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
